Excess
Visiting one of Europe's leading museums and looking at the magnificent collection of still lifes by Dutch masters, I was struck by this thought. Maybe
we don't have such magnificent creations of craftsmanship in our homes, such sturgeons and hares straight from the river or the forest, but we have many more wonderful things. Much more.
I have chosen to depict the remnants of our comfort in life. So many inventions, so many objects. All to make us comfortable.
"By their fruits you shall know them"-this biblical quote describes the human value system.Rankings, tables, life achievements define athletes, scientists, artists and ordinary bread eaters.
I would like to ask, what do these fruits, which are the subject of my latest works, say about each of us and our culture?
